The BBG use three endemic species from our catchment to represent the three main channels of our landcare work. These animals have been chosen as our icons as they represent not only the wonderful diversity of our environment but also some of the most endangered or threatened species from the habitats that our community is working to conserve and protect.

Numbat – representing dryland habitat, native vegetation conservation and sustainable agriculture project.

Bittern – representing the Priority Bittern & Waterbird Project, focussing on the rehabiliation of disused mine areas to a pristine wetland environment.

Black Cockatoo – representing habitat protection, revegetation and rehabilitation projects, along with community engagement and awareness of landcare opportunities.
